Shaklee’s responsibility and dedication to the environment is unwavering and unmatched. They have received many awards and recognitions for their efforts. Their environmentally safe products are used by many knowledgeable environmental projects including those listed.
*1985: The Wild Dolphin Project chose Shaklee’s cleaning products for use on board their vessel. This ongoing project studies dolphin habitat.
*1989: In partnership with the American Himalayan Foundation, Shaklee helped build schools and health clinics and plant over a million trees in Asia.
*1990: Shaklee’s Basic-H cleaner was chosen as one of the first official Earth Day products.
*1990: Shaklee received Family Circle magazine’s “Green Chip” award as one of the nation’s ten most environmentally conscious companies.
*1996: Shaklee began a relationship with Ocean Alliance and the Whale Conservation Institute. Shaklee’s cleaning products are used aboard research vessels studying ocean contaminants.
*1998: Shaklee became a Charter Partner of the U.S. EPA’s Climate Wise Program.
*2000: Shaklee earned the Earth Day 2000 Environmental Business Leadership Award in recognition of the company’s track record of environmental responsibility.
*2000: Shaklee became the nation’s first Climate Neutral Certified company in 2000, repeated in 2001 and is currently still certified. This is the result of achieving a net zero impact on global warming by completely offsetting greenhouse gas emissions.
*Shaklee’s World Headquarters is one of the first green, energy-saving, award-winning buildings designed using sustainable and/or recycled products.
*2002: Shaklee received the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2002 Climate Protection Award. This recognizes exceptional leadership, dedication, and technical achievements in protecting the earth’s climate.
*2005: Shaklee became a major partner of 2004 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Dr. Wangari Maathai, and her Green Belt Movement.
*2006: Shaklee launches the environmental campaign “A million trees. A million dreams.”
*2006: The first ever carbon neutral conference was held by Shaklee.
*2006: Shaklee was selected as a U.S. EPA Climate Leader, recognizing their net zero impact.
*2007: Shaklee becomes a founding member of the Business Council on Climate Change.
*2007: Working in partnership with Millennium Promise, Shaklee becomes the first company in the world to offset its carbon emissions through efforts in Africa.
*2007: Shaklee is the first consumer products company to offset 100% of CO2 emissions through the EPA Climate Leader’s program and use 100% green power.
*2007: Shaklee continues ongoing support of Will Steger throughout his explorations and research of Arctic regions.
*2007: Shaklee is selected by the nation’s leading child advocacy group, Healthy Child Healthy World, to be the exclusive partner for a new video titled “Creating Healthy Environments for Children”.
*2007: Shaklee is selected by the producers of the feature length documentary “The 11th Hour”, narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, as a partner due to their exemplary track record for environmental leadership.
*2008: Shaklee named to the Top 20 Retail Partner list by the EPA Green Power Partnership in recognition of being a top purchaser of green power.
*2009: Clean Air Award from Breathe California recognizing company contributions to reducing the effects of global warming and improving air quality.

The greenhouse gas inventory for 2010 covering all Shaklee operations worldwide include U.S., Canada, Japan, China, Mexico, Malaysia, and Taiwan, were reviewed by a third party, WSP Environment and Energy, in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for all 6 Kyoto-defined greenhouse gases.
